I knew I wanted to do a distress oxide blend, but I was having a hard time trying to figure out a good blend. I spent the weekend swatching all my inks in hopes that it would inspire me, but I wasn’t finding anything that was striking me. Then I remembered this AWESOME resource on by Inky and Stampy. She has taken some time to produce MANY awesome color combos. You can even choose one color and she shows you all the combos that have that color in it! Its honestly SO amazing! You can also see her combos on Pinterest for saving – here!
This lovely color caught my eye. It was just Christmas enough but also a little unexpected. I cut a piece of Simon Says Stamp – Mega Ultra Thick Card Stock 130lb and went to town blending. I started with the Shabby Shutters to Dried Marigold and finished with Candied Apple. I LOVE LOVE LOVE, how it turned out! I cut 1/2 an inch off from the longer sides, and then a 1/4 of an inch off the top and bottom to keep the blend even.
I then cut out three ovals from the Spellbinders – Nestabilities Fancy Edged Oval Dies and glued them together to create some thickness. I then used the Large Die of the Month and cut out the florals to add to the bottom of the frame. I glued them all together, added my sentiment and viola!
