Hello Crafty Friends! Today I have the wonderful pleasure of being included in the Simon Says Stamp Blog Hop Day 2! I am always so thankful for my relationship with Simon and their generosity.

I have a couple cards for you today but I am going to be focusing on one card in particular. Be sure to head to the bottom to see my gallery of cards made!

Below is a list of supplies for the card.

I started off by cutting an A2 panel of my favorite ink blending paper, Simon’s Mega Thick White Card Stock. I absolutely LOVE this paper when it comes to using my brushes and die inks (and oxides too). I adhered my panel to my Stamp and Stick Mat (mine is Brutus Monroe but Simon does have one as a collab with Brutus! Highly recommend). I did add a little tap to help hold the stencil down, but with it being a larger stencil it did stick to the mat as well.

I grabbed my brushes and went to town blending on a diagonal. I went in an Ombre’ order.

Once I was done, I cut the panel down and applied some foam tape to the back. I like a thicker card, so I love the Altenew foam tape. If you are looking to keep this card at a more reasonable thickness, Simon’s Big Mama foam tape is a great alternative.

I then went to work cutting out the vellum dies. I also stamped the sentiment from the new So Sorry release. After I was done with that, I went to work on my foiling. I am still learning how to foil, and I was really happy with how this butterfly came out. I used Neenah 80lb just because I haven’t grabbed any of the magical Hammermill everyone talks about. Once I had the card pieces I went about adding more foam tape and squares and finished it off with some pretties!

I love adding this set to my stash. Its full of some really great sayings during times of need.

  5. Dear Jessica – This is beautiful. I love anything w/ polka dots. I love the shades of bluey green (pale teal?) and blue that you’ve chosen. Butterflies are always good. I, too, am learning to foil. I love the items you’ve shared at the end. They’re spectacular! TFS !
