Hello crafty friends! I have been so into one die, two cards lately. Yesterday I used the negative pieces of this fun Birthday Candle die that Simon Says Stamp sent to me to use for the release and now I give you the positive!
Here is a list of supplies I used for this card…
- Simon Says Stamp – Birthday Candles Die
- Simon Says Stamp Mega Thick 130 lb Card stock
- Simon Says Stamp – Blending Brushes
- Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Cheeky
- Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Lemonade
- Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Seafoam
- Simon Says Stamp – Big Momma foam Tape
- Tim Holtz Idea-ology SENTIMENTS Label Stickers
- Gina K Connect Glue
- Neenah Solar White 80 lb Card stock
- Neenah Classic Crest 110 lb card stock – card base
I started by grabbing my favorite blending paper, Simon Says Stamp Mega Thick 130 lb Card stock, my Blending Brushes, and my new favorite blending inks, Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Cheeky, Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Lemonade and Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink – Seafoam. I LOVE THESE INKS. They blend beautifully. These are the lighter colors in the trio hues and they make the most beautiful soft rainbow when blended together. I took the die and drew a very light circle of the die to give me an idea of where to focus the blend. I wanted to be sure that I had the full rainbow in the die. I very slowly and carefully blended them together.
When I had cut out the die and used the inner pieces for the previous card (found here), I used the outer die shape and cut out two more out of plain white cardstock and then proceeded to glue them together. I stacked them up and let them dry. Once dry, I glued them to the Die to the card and then used a random glitter glue to fill in the wicks to add a little more oomph. I finished the card with a Tim Holtz Idea-ology SENTIMENTS Label Sticker.
I love being able to use a die for two cards. Its such a feeling of accomplishment!
