Hello crafty friends! Today I have a card featuring the Spellbinders – Mini Fall Blooms from an August Release. I loved using Distress Oxide Sprays to create these little leaves.
Here is a list of supplies used on this card…
- Spellbinders – Mini Fall Blooms
- Spellbinders – All is Calm Word Frame Etched Dies
- Spellbinders – Thankful Die (part of a older KOM)
- Distress Oxide Spray – Kitsch Flamingo
- Distress Oxide Spray – Mustard Seed
- Distress Oxide Spray – Carved Pumpkin
- Distress Oxide Spray – Crackling Campfire
- Distress Oxide Spray – Gathered Twigs
- Distress Water Color Paper
- Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze
- Tim Holtz Side Kick
- Gina K Connect Glue
- Neenah Solar White 80 lb Card stock
- Neenah Solar White 110 lb Card Stock – Card base
- Dark Brown Card stock
I started by using the Distress Oxide Sprays in a few different colors and some Distress Water Color Paper. I used the texture side because I wanted to add that little extraness to the leaves. I sprayed all the colors and then left them to dry. While they were drying, I used the Spellbinders – All is Calm Word Frame Etched Dies and omitted the inner frame to make the scalloped and intricate part become one piece. I adhered that to my card base using Gina K Connect Glue.
When the water color panels were dried, I trimmed them down to 2 in strips to fit into my new Tim Holtz Side Kick. I usually use my Gemini for all my die cutting needs, but I found it cumbersome for these smaller dies. So I grabbed the Tim Holtz Side Kick from a local craft store and I am so glad that I did! It suctions to the table to give it a nice strong gripe and its so easy to use. I was cutting out a lot of leaves and it saved so much time to be able to use this little machine vs. the big gemini.
Once I had them all cut out, I went to town layering and gluing them. When I was finished, I added the Thankful die that I cut out three times and then finished the leaves off with some Tonic Nuvo Crystal Glaze to give the effect of dew drops.
