Hello! I had the pleasure of playing with this beautiful collection called “Trim the Tree.” It was so much fun!
Here is a list of products I used to make this card…
- Spellbinders – O Christmas Tree Etched Dies
- Spellbinders – Layered Christmas Tree Stencil
- Spellbinders – Mirror Gold cardstock
- Simon Says Stamp – Tiny Words Christmas
- Ohuhu Markers – BG1, BG2
- Medium Green Card Stock
- Nuvo Crackle Paste – Russian White
- Stencil Pal
- Gina K. Connect Glue
- Darice Foam Strips
- Neenah Solar White 110 lb Card Stock
I started creating this card by using the star from the Spellbinders – O Christmas Tree Etched Dies and cut it out of white cardstock a bunch of times. I then started gluing them with my Gina K. Connect Glue all over a panel of Neenah Solar White 110 lb Card Stock. I didn’t really want to space them all the same, so I tried to make it random but with some care. As I set the panel to the side to dry, I moved into creating the christmas tree.
I used the tree die from the Spellbinders – O Christmas Tree Etched Dies. I wanted to create a little depth to the tree before I placed the crackle mousse on, so I grabbed some of my alcohol markers and flicked two different colors of “branches” on. I let it dry and then I took the Spellbinders – Layered Christmas Tree Stencil and the Nuvo Crackle Paste – Russian White and lined it up on my tree die cut. I went to work spreading the mousse over the image using my Stencil Pal (which makes it so easy to spread!). I made sure not to mess with it too much because I didn’t want the mousse to take on the color from the markers.
Once dry, I added the tree to the star panel I had made earlier, adding some Spellbinders – Mirror Gold cardstock bulbs for an added oomph! Finished it up with a Simon Says Stamp – Tiny Words Christmas sentiment popped up with Darice Foam Strips (which are my favorite to use for this smaller sentiments.) I absolutely love the effect of the crackle mousse!
