Hello crafty friends! I am bringing another card to you today using the Simon Says Stamp – Do What It Cakes Stamp Set! For this card, I wanted to use a masking technique to highlight the beautiful florals and make them look like they are sitting on top of the cake.
Here is a list of supplies…
- Simon Says Stamp – Do What It Cakes Stamp Set
- Simon Says Stamp White Embossing Powder
- Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words
- Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies
- Simon Says Stamp Big Momma Foam Tape
- Blush Pink Cardstock
- Neenah Solar White 110 lb Cardstock
- Inkadinkado Masking Sheet
- My Sweet Petunia – Misti
- Versamark Embossing Ink
I started off by using one of my Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the Blush Pink card stock. I then dusted it with my embossing buddy to remove all the static that might have been on the paper. Next, I started by putting my cake stamp down on the paper to get an idea of where I wanted the cake. I then place the floral stamps over the cake where I wanted them to be on it. I then closed my Misti, and very carefully picking up the floral images. I removed the cake and then stamped the florals in Versamark Embossing Ink. I coated the image in Simon Says Stamp White Embossing Powder and heated it with my heat gun. While I had the stamps still on my Misti, I grabbed a piece of Inkadinkado Masking paper and then fussy cut the images out.
I placed the masking images over the florals and then lined my cake stamp back up. I repeated the versamark on the stamp and the embossing powder. Before I set the powder, I removed the masks to ensure that everything looked good. I set the powder and then used a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Words and some Simon Says Stamp Big Momma Foam Tape to pop the panel up!
