Hello crafty friends! I am back in the craft room after a much needed vacation to my home state of Oregon to see family. And what better way to kick it off then a new Simon Says Stamp release! I had the lovely pleasure of working with the Do what it cakes stamp set. What a CUTE set!
For my first card I did a ink smoosh using Distress Oxide Inks. Here is the rest of the supplies!
- Distress Oxide Ink – Squeezed Lemonade
- Distress Oxide Ink – Salty Ocean
- Distress Oxide Ink – Picked Raspberry
- Versamark Embossing Ink
- Embossing Powder – Ranger Princess Gold
- Distress Water Color Cardstock
- Neenah Solar white 110lb Cardstock
- Simon Says Stamp – Big Momma Foam Tape
- Darice Foam Strips
- Tim Holtz Glass Media Mat
- Misti by My Sweet Petunia
First, I grabbed the beautiful cake stamp set and added it to my Misti. I inked it up using my versa mark embossing ink and then sprinkled Ranger Princess Gold onto the inked image and set it with a heat gun. Next, I lined up the sprinkle stamps and inked them up using the Distress Oxide Inks. For each color, I randomly pounced a paper towel over the image to remove some of the ink to create a random rainbow inking. Next, I went to town smooshing the lightest color, Squeezed Lemonade onto my media mat and spritzing it with water. I then used an old piece of plastic (left over from a stamp set) and started picking up the ink and carefully adding it to my Distress Water Color cardstock, being sure to randomize it and create a balance of color. I continued with the two additional colors (Salty Ocean and Picked Raspberry)
After I had enough splattered about, I grabbed the candles and stamped those, along with a sentiment. I carefully cut them out and added Darice Foam to the back of both and placed them on the panel. I then added Simon Says Stamp – Big Momma Foam Tape to the back and then adhered it to Neenah Solar white 110lb Cardstock.
This set is so versatile and I am so excited to add it to my collection.
