Hello! I am back using the Small Die of the Month for July! Spellbinders sent me this die and it was fun to play with.
Ornate die cuts aren’t always my thing. I find beauty in the but sometimes struggle with how to use them. One of the techniques that I really have enjoyed is using them to do a dry embossing technique. So I started off with a 4.25 X 5.5. piece of white cardstock. I then set up my Gemini sandwich to be butting plate, rubber mat, cutting plate. I taped the frames together and then positioned them on the paper how I wanted them. I ran them through my machine.
Next I grabbed one of my Distress Inks that I don’t reach for often. I used Weathered Wood Distress ink and a foam circle and started blended the ink on until desired.
I then cut out the frame and used foam tap to pop it off another sheet of 4.25 x 5.5. Once I had it adhered, I used my Glimmer Mist to GLITZ it all up! I spray it a couple of times to really make it pop.
I then grabbed for one of my alcohol markers that matched the color of the background an scribbled onto a scrap piece of paper until the ink appeared even. I took the included “For you” die and outer frame and cut it out! Using the same marker, I went over the words to make them a little darker.
Added them all together with some jewels to finish it off! I feel like this could be a masculine card for a significant other or best friend who doesn’t mind a little glitter and bling.
