I was lucky enough to snatch the Stamptember Release with Honeybee Stamps. I fell in love with the beautiful design right away.
I started by heat embossing the wreath on watercolor paper in gold embossing powder. I then went to town using a couple different colors of Distress Oxide inks for a inksmooshing technique. I pressed the ink pads onto my tim holts glass media mat and spritzed them with water. I then used a acetate sheet to pick up the color and transferred it to the wreath. I then used my Zig Clean Clear markers to add an extra punch to the flowers and leaves to help them pop. When I achieved the look I wanted, I let it dry and then fussy cut it out.
With using the color Antique Linen, the watercolor paper had taken on an off white hue, so I grabbed a vanilla piece of cardstock. I used gold paint to create the splatters for the background to accent with the gold embossing powder. As it was drying, I stamped the Missing You sentiment from the same set in black ink. I added foam to the back of the wreath and adhered it to the vanilla cardstock and then added a slim piece of gold cardstock to add a little more interest.
I love gold splatter, I think its my favorite next to white. Do you use splatter in your projects?
