I am back on the blog today with two cards that were inspired by an image I saw in a catalog with three similar colors. I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to use my Simon Says Stamp (SSS) ink colors to try and pull it off!
I pulled out the reverse polka dot background stamp from SSS. I used the following SSS ink colors: Lavender, Blue Jay and Lake shores. I started by placing the stamp in my Misti and grabbing a micro cloth to remove some of the ink to get a blended look. I stamped with Lake shores first, being sure to dab away the ink along the edge where the other colors were going to lay next to each other. I continued with the Lavendar next, and finishing with the Blue Jay.
The sentiment for this card is a die set called Tall Type Face from Concord and 9th. I love the whimsy of these letters! I made sure to cut them out of Neenah Solar White Classic crest 80lb 3 times and glued them together. I added some silver thread from my stash and punched out a white glittered heart to finish it off.
Card numero 2… Thank You.
I followed the same process when inking the background as I did with the first card. I used the Spellbinders Feb Small die of the month called Art Studio Botanicals and cut one layer out of white, and the other out of white glitter card stock. I wanted it to pop, so I carefully and painstaking cut foam squares down to conceal behind the die to give it that extra umph! Used a thank you sentiment from SSS Mom’s Meadow and finished the card off with some older white iridescent jewels from my stash.
So fun to just sit down and enjoy the creative process with these cards. Which one if your favorite? Let me know!
